(RAITH, ON) – After almost 24 hours with highway 17 being closed down, it’s finally open.
Last nigh, a head on collision between two transports that ended in a fire engulfing that situation had numerous people rushed to hospital.
Unfortunately, the collision also claimed a life.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) closed the highway down but briefly opened it around 7:00 am this morning. The highway was quickly closed again shortly after for investigative purposes.
The highway is now open and flowing in both directions.
Police have not released the identity of the deceased.
