Vicious assault lands man in hospital

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – A vicious incident has unfolded in the city’s north-side today, resulting in one man being sent to the hospital by ambulance.

Reports have come into our news compound regarding a brutal assault which is alleged to have taken place at the door of a city residents home.

29-year-old Liam Germain is the alleged suspect in the incident.

What we have been told was that Germain allegedly rang the resident’s doorbell, and upon answering the door, the resident asked the uninvited guest (Germain) what they were doing there.

The two males are barely known to each other, and the unwelcomed Germain said that he would have called, but had lost the alleged victims telephone number. The resident informed the unwanted Germain that they were sleeping.

After a brief pause of awkward silence, the unannounced visitor Germain responded with “YOU KNOW WHAT? F**K YOU” in which the resident responded with “F**k you too then” and attempted to slam the door shut when things are alleged to become violent.

Germain then allegedly rushed in the home, pushing the door open and violently striking the resident.

“What the f**k?? I just wanted to sleep” the resident said, then the attacker mumbled something before leaving.

The resident called 911 and was sent to the hospital with significant injuries.

Speculating from the allegations, this could result in not only a charge assault causing bodily harm, but also unlawful entry into a dwelling home.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or the whereabouts of Germain are urged to contact the Thunder Bay Police Service at 807-684-1200
