(THUNDER BAY, ON) – EVACUEES RELEASED ON BAIL TO CATCH FLIGHT BACK TO PIKANGIKUM AFTER ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTING THE SAME WOMAN A DAY APART.
On July 16,2019, the Thunder Bay Police we called again to the Airlane Hotel. Upon arriving it’s alleged that CARSINA STRANG had assaulted another female evacuee who was previous a victim of an assault by SHAUNDINE TURTLE the day before. . It’s alleged that STRANG who has one leg in a cast and uses a crutch was drinking in the hotel room with the woman. She felt the woman was lying to her and invited her out for a cigarette. As they stood outside, STRANG allegedly told the woman that the real reason she asked her outside was to assault her and begin swinging the crutch at the woman’s head. When the woman fell to the ground, it’s alleged that STRANG jumped on top of her and began violently beating the woman in the face with a closed fist causing the victim to bleed. The incident was allegedly witnessed by a security guard st the Airlane.
Inside Edition sources indicate that STRANG has recently had another child that is 21 days old and she has been breastfeeding.
STRANG is released with conditions to reside and live at a home on Sesame Street in Pikangikum. Her father came to courthouse to get her. She is ordered to stay away from the victim.
Her next court date is September 6,2019
A 21 year old SHAUNDINE TURTLE was released on bail today with several conditions after being charged with assault at the Airlane. It’s alleged that on July 17,2019 at 1:10am (the day before the STRANG assault) that TURTLE and the same victim were drinking in the hotel room when they both came out under the influence of alcohol.
A St John ambulance worker stationed at the Airlane encouraged them to go back to their room for their own safety. The victim tried to convince TURTLE to follow that advice when TURTLE thought to respond with a closed fist to the face of the female victim (who he was previously court ordered not to be around). He has previous charges from Pikangikum of assaulting same woman.
TURTLE is released with conditions to not drink alcohol and reside with his father on Orderly Trail. He’s also ordered again not to contact his victim.
He also has a future court date of September 6,2019.
Big thanks to our news tipster for submitting this story. Great job by Thunder Bay Police responding to all the extra calls at The Airlane, Valhalla and Victoria Inn this week.
And another epic fail by the Director of Communications at TBPS and his lazy buddies at local media. Another zero effort performance by them to highlight all the conditions that Thunder Bay Police deal with.
