(THUNDER BAY, ON) – A late night raid on a home on Athens Drive has kept area police officers busy. We have received information that multiple police agencies worked together to raid the residence.
Shortly after 11:00 pm we were informed that the Ontario Provincial Police along with the Thunder Bay Police Service, and possibly more police agencies, worked in tandem to take down the suspected drug house.
The street was filled with roughly 6 police cruisers and what looked like about 12 officers when the house was rushed. Police were seen removing multiple people out of the home and into waiting police cruisers. Residents in the area say that the home was known for having heavy traffic in and out at all hours of the day and night.
Around the same time, we heard that there was another residence being raided at the same time. We were unable to confirm if this was true or not. We are working hard to obtain that information. Word is that a residence near the Casino also got raided, in a joint effort to take down a small group of organized drug dealers.
The police presence was still being felt on Athens as of the time of this article being published. The photo is of that presence.
If you or anyone you know, knows about a drug house and want to make some extra cash, please reach out to Crime Stoppers and give them your tip. If your tip leads to a conviction, you can get up to a $2000 payout. The Crime Stoppers website is www.p3tips.com/273
We will have more information later this morning once bail court has finished.
