Police Investigate Boat Theft North of TBay


(SAUERBRIE LAKE, ON) – On May 28, 2019, at approximately 1:19 p.m., an officer from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a theft of a boat from Sauerbrie Lake.

Sometime between October 8, 2018 to May 24, 2019, unknown suspect(s) stole a boat which was located at a remote landing at Sauerbrie Lake which is located approximately 100 kms north of the junction of Highway 11/17 and Highway 527.


The boat is described as a 14 foot aluminum Nadon vessel with a red exterior and light green interior (no motor attached to the boat).

  1. If you are stupid and or lazy enough to leave a boat in the bush for the winter…. what did you expect???? Most boats that are left in the bush around here, might get borrowed for the day and returned….but to 100% expect that it would still be there….. ?
    there are lots of boats at nearby lakes that have been there for years……you take a gamble by doing what this guy did.Period.
