(THUNDER BAY, ON) – We have been tipped off about a approximately 30-year-old man that was found in a south side motel room, unresponsive and with a needle still stuck in his arm. Fort Motel on Kingsway.
The man was not responding to any shouting in attempts to get him to wake up. In a panic, a 911 call was made and all three levels of first responders were sent to the scene.
A witness on scene said that they overheard the man regained consciousness and appeared to become angry while wielding a needle. Paramedics refused to enter the room without police escort.
Upon police arrival, the man was assessed and shipped off to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre’s emergency department where our hardworking medical staff will ensure he survives his substance abuse, at least for now.
