The campaign is called “Random Hats of Kindness” and their initiative is to encourage people to wear hats on our hot summer days.

Hats are being placed on public benches, and fences in hopes that people that might not have a way of getting their own could use them.

The hats given out were donated to the NorWest Community Health Centre by several different organizations throughout the city such as the Lakehead Bordercats and the Conservatory Authority.

All hats are placed in different public areas throughout the city with a tag that says, “I am not lost! If you need me please take me. Seek shade, drink water and cover up this summer. Have a safe and healthy summer.”

The NorWest Community Health Centre is hoping to carry on this initiative into the colder months of November to January with hats, mits and scarves.
