(THUNDER BAY, ON) – The Thunder Bay Police have been investigating a triple stabbing at Newfie’s Pub recently, and have made an arrest.
Appearing in bail court this morning is 20-year-old Johnathon Fredric Greywolf Barnard.
His Worship, Justice of the Peace Bruce Leaman is presiding along with Crown Attorney Franceline AuClair and duty counsel lawyer Morris.
Barnard is facing the following criminal code offences:
- Aggravated assault x3
- Failure to comply with probation (keep the peace and be of good behaviour) x2
The Crown is opposed to Barnard’s release based on secondary ground concerns. This is a Crown onus situation.
Secondary grounds tells us that the Crown is concerned with the likelihood of the accused to either reoffend, become a public safety concern, or to interfere with the administration of justice.
Further, the Crown requests a no contact order with the 3 alleged victims in this case.
Dury counsel requests the matter be remanded to a future court date.
Justice of the Peace Leaman orders Barnard to remain in jail until his next court date.

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Reports are coming in regarding multiple people getting stabbed in the cities south side downtown core last night.
Numerous witnesses say the incident unfolded when patrons of a notorious bar got into a heated altercation.
Allegations are that a man struck another man’s girlfriend, resulting in a knife being taken out and one person being stabbed.
Other people became involved and tried to physically address the situation, which only resulted in two more people getting knifed.
The male suspect fled the scene on foot and to the best of our knowledge, has not been apprehended by police as of yet.
The weapon used was a kitchen steak knife. It is unknown if the victims and the accused are known to each other.
This situation happened near the corner of Brodie Street St and Victoria Ave.
