Highway 61 Collision During Rough Weather


(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Officers with the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have responded to a collision on Highway 61 not too far from the intersection with Broadway.

Multiple vehicles were involved in the incident which had traffic slow down in the area for some time.

No serious injuries were sustained during the course of this crash.

Motorists are reminded to drive safely and according to weather conditions. Despite what you may have read on other news sources, we are not getting up to 50 centimetres but we are getting about 10-15.

When you see first responders working on the roadways, it is the law that you slow down and move over. Police, paramedics, firefighters, tow truck drivers etc are all first responders.

  1. People just dont get it. You need to adjust your driving according to the conditions of the roads. You need extra time to slow down on slick pavement. Either leave a few minutes early or stay home because all you are doing is putting other people in danger because of your selfish stupidity. If you spin out you can cause a chain reaction that others get caught up in. Is it really worth it to kill yourself or someone because you are in a hurry?
