(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Not taking this coronavirus outbreak seriously is going to cost hundreds if not thousands of Canadian lives, possibly more.
The whole purpose of people self-isolating upon returning from travelling is so that the virus stops at them. They get sick and hopefully recover. Lurking around town before your 14 days is up puts everyone you come into contact with and their families.
Reports have come in that George from McKellar Confectionary returned from Greece about 2 days ago and has been seen at Shoppers Drug Mart numerous times since, according to Shannon, a news tipster and employees at said Shoppers. He was overheard talking about his trip in Shoppers.
Employees at the Shoppers Drug Mart have vulnerable family members at home, including some elderly, who don’t have a great chance at surviving the virus, should they become infected.
There is n effort to slow the spread of the virus and “flatten the curve”. This means to reduce the amount of people infected at one time so that our healthcare system doesn’t become fatally overburdened, such as in Italy where they now have to choose who lives and who dies.
Please, if you have travelled, do not leave your home for 14 days. You are putting everyone and their family at risk when you do. Italy failed to take the virus seriously and now have more confirmed dead from the virus than China.
McKellar Confectionary, we love you, but please, do the right thing.
