(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Another abduction attempt has happened, this time in the cities north side.

We have been told that an 11-year-old girl was walking home today from school when she was approached by a man in a vehicle around 3:45 pm.

The man was in an older white van and attempted to get the child in his vehicle.

The male is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • Tanned skin
  • Either a beard with dark facial hair, or a black bandana covering the lower half of his face.
  • Black hat pulled down low
  • Driving a white work van (E350) with rusted out wheel wells and a huge dent on the bumper. The van also has a ladder roof rack.

“This took place near Claude garden School –again in broad daylight! The man asked my daughter to help find his puppy. Luckily enough, she knew better. He then told her to get inside. (the youth) again, refused. He drove away angry.” says the mother of the child.

“Talking to other parents I found out a similar situation happened 2 days ago and he tried using chocolate bars. Educate your children. This could have been so much worse. 😢” The mother of the child said.

The incident happened on Dacre Street in Current River.

“Please talk to your children about the goings on in our neighbourhood. Remind them to be aware of their surroundings and take note of anyone coming near them.” Says Cher Renaud.

The police have been notified, and the investigation is continuing.

  1. And the catholic schools buses stopped driving kids in the east end to school if there over 8 years old. This is terrible.

  2. My daughters school bus change location for a pick up in the corner of gore and crawford right by a bar. Catholic schools are not being catholic. When asked to change it back since the bus passes our house anyways we were told parents just like to complain… i say we ask to school board to be held responsible for there action if any harm comes to tbe parents or children since they force parents to drop off and pick up there children in places of a questionable reputable area.

  3. I’m Sure It Is Against The Law Not to Bus Children To School n BK n They Must Drop Them Off n Make Sure They Arive Alive…{;z Check The Laws..This Was Due To a Teenage Girl Being Dropped Off n Had To Walk…She Was Mutdered Going bk 20 or More Years Ago….Gl…

  4. It’s not just the Catholic board, my 12 year old daughter is very small and thin for her age. She has never missed the bus unless sick and this year has been told to walk. We are 7 blocks from school and I cannot see her walking, and we have JK age twins who are getting on the same (half empty) bus she isn’t allowed to go on, so I can’t walk her myself.
Here’s the other thing…so many parents from other areas drive their kids to school the whole 4 surrounding blocks are congessed with traffic in mornings so driving is not really an option. School is legally required and such so should transportation be.

  5. That’s on my street!! I’ve been keeping an eye out for that sicko!! He better hope he’s left our area!! It’s cuz of these new bus rules!! Kids shouldn’t HAVE TO WALK TO SCHOOL with the sickos that are out there nowadays!!
