Arrested 5 Days After Release For Theft, Fraud and Breach

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Arrested again within 7 days of his last W.A.S.H. appearance is 23-year-old Jonah Thomas. Her Worship, Justice of the Peace Denette Maslach was presiding over the matter. Crown Attorney Derrick Silvestro and duty counsel lawyer Morris are also handling the case.

Thomas was arrested after allegations of him stealing from the Shoppers Drug Mart on 900 East Arthur Street arose on December 14th, 2018. He was released on December 10th after very recent and similar matters resulted on him being court ordered to not attend any Shoppers Drug Marts, Barb’s Laundromat’s, or LCBO’s in Thunder Bay.

Thomas’ new charges are:

  • Theft under $5000 (Shoppers Drug Mart)
  • Breach of bail conditions (not to attend any Shoppers Drug Mart, Barb’s Laundromat or LCBO) (alleged to have attended Shoppers Drug Mart)

His existing matters that came to light last Saturday in W.A.S.H. court are:

  • Theft under $5000 (Shoppers Drug Mart)
  • Theft under $5000 (Barb’s Laundromat)
  • Possession of stolen debit cards
  • Fraud under $5000

Thomas is denied bail and will be held in jail until at least his next scheduled court date this coming Monday, December 17th, 2018.
