(DRYDEN, ON) – Appearing in a Thunder Bay courtroom this morning is a male youth who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He appeared via telephone call from the Dryden Police Service detachment.

His Worship, Justice of the Peace Bruce Leaman was presiding along with Crown Attorney P. Pasloski and a duty counsel representative. The youth has racked up numerous charges stemming across 7 arrests. Below are the dates and charges, starting with the most recent.

November 9th, 2019:

  • Breaching bail conditions (curfew).

October 24:

  • Breaching bail conditions

August 28th:

  • Assault police.

August 27th:

  • Breaching bail conditions.

August 26th:

  • Break and enter to commit an indictable offence.
  • Mischief.

August 23rd:

  • Breaching bail conditions.

August 4th:

  • Theft.
  • Possession of stole property.
  • Fraud.
  • Mischief.
  • Breaching bail conditions.

The Crown indicates that “young people are presumptively releasable” but carries on to highlight the numerous incidents and charges as concerning. The youth is not being released today and is held in custody until a future court date.

    His parents must be real proud of him.

  2. I used to think that laws in theocratic countries were barbaric, but now I am coming around to liking some of their just desserts for crime. If punks like this one and other hardened criminals got a ticket to one of those countries to serve their punishment there would not be so much garbage happening here.. Those countries are not in the stone age. We are.
