(DRYDEN, ON) – On Friday September 27, 2019, at approximately 7:00pm, the Dryden Police stopped a motor vehicle on Whyte Avenue for a Highway Traffic Act offence.
The driver was detained for a Standard Field Sobriety Test by police and later found not to be impaired. During the traffic stop, officers observed open liquor which resulted in a further search of the vehicle.
In the rear of the vehicle, officers located 22 year old Sage Jazlyn FOX of Dryden, ON who was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
FOX has been charged with two counts of Possession of an Opioid and one count of Obstruct a Peace Officer. Police then located a male attempting to avoid detection by hiding under jackets in the rear of the vehicle.
After a short struggle, the male was removed from the vehicle and identified as Waylon Jason MORTON, 36-years-old of Dryden, ON.
Morton was found to be in breach of a number of court ordered conditions, including breaching his house arrest conditions.
MORTON was further charged possession of cocaine, two counts of Breach of Probation and two counts of Failing to Comply with a Recognizance. MORTON was held for bail for October 2, 2019, in Dryden.
FOX made a short appearance in front of a Justice of the Peace and was released.
