(DRYDEN, ON) – On November 6, 2019, the Dryden Police Service Crime Unit arrested 57 year old Peggy LEDOUX of Dryden, who is now facing charges of Fraud and Falsification of Documents while she was employed with a local not for profit organization in Dryden.
The investigation began in August of 2018, when the Dryden Police Service received a complaint from the Dryden Volunteer Recruitment and Referral Program regarding altered bank records as well as missing money that couldn’t be accounted for. At the time, LEDOUX was employed as Financial Administrator for that organization.
As the investigation continued, the Dryden Volunteer Recruitment and Referral Program also discovered sums of money missing from the Christmas Cheer Program. LEDOUX has been charged with Fraud Over $5000 and Falsification of Books and Documents in relation to these two organizations.
In August 2019, Dryden Police Service received another complaint from the Cloverbelt Local Food Co-op of Fraud by employee Peggy LEDOUX. LEDOUX began working for the Cloverbelt Local Food Co-op, in February 2019, as an Administrator.
It was shortly after that the Board of the Cloverbelt Co-op noticed unauthorized transactions on their financial records. LEDOUX has been charged with two counts of Fraud Under $5000 and one count of Falsification of Books and Documents.
The total loss from all three organizations is estimated at over $30, 000.
LEDOUX was released on an Undertaking with Conditions and a Promise to Appear for December 9, 2019 to appear in Dryden Provincial Court.
Sources close to the north pole indicate that Santa has put Peggy on the naughty list.
