Threats Involving a Firearm Lead to Charges

(MORLEY TWP, ON) – On August 24, 2019 members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to investigate an accusation of threats involving the use of a firearm.


Members of the Rainy River District Crime unit as well as the Northwest Region (NWR) Emergency Response Team (ERT) conducted an investigation including the execution of a warrant in Morley Township.

As a result of the investigation and evidence gained by the warrant, Clayton Penner (65) has been charged criminally with:

  • 1 count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
  • 1 count of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm;
  • 1 count of unauthorized possession of a firearm.

He will appear in court October 30th, 2019 to answer to these charges.
