Shoal Lake First Nation Shooting Update


(SHOAL LAKE FIRST NATION #39, ON) – Members of the Treaty Three Police Service responded to Shoal Lake #39 after reports were made of a firearm being discharged at a home. Assistance was requested by the police service to the OPP and RCMP to locate the individual responsible for this situation.
RCMP Located the vehicle in which the gunshots were believed to have been discharged from. Falcon Lake, Manitoba is where the police intercepted the vehicle.
The vehicle was involved in a collision while attempting to flee from the police.
Police have charged the male responsible with the following charges:

  • Pointing a firearm.
  • Assault with a weapon.
  • Careless use of a firearm.
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon.
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon.
  • Mischief.
  • Causing a disturbance.

The investigation is continuing and more charges are expected. Members of the community have said that a male by the nickname of “Nytro” is alleged to be the male police arrested. Police have not released his name as of yet.
