Fort Frances Border Crossing Impaired Bust

(FORT FRANCES, ON) – Shortly before 7:00 pm on August 10, 2019 officers from the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were contacted by officers from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) at the Fort Frances Port of entry. CBSA officers had conducted a roadside sobriety test with an approved screening device. The female driver performed poorly.

OPP officers as well as an officer from Treaty Three Police Service continued the investigation and as a result Anne THATCHER (52) of Frederic Wisconsin was charged criminally with:

  • Operate Conveyance with 80 or more milligrams of alcohol in 100 ml of blood; and
  • Operate Conveyance while impaired by drug or alcohol.

She is scheduled to appear in Fort Frances Provincial Court on Monday September 23, 2019 at 9:30 am to begin answering to this charge.
