(ATIKOKAN, ON) – A well-loved and surely to be missed bait and tackle shop has burned to the ground.

The Voyageur Bait & Tackle located at 2001 Highway 11B in Atikokan has burned down. They were one of two options for gas in town other than the Esso.

Firefighters fought the fire bravely, but ultimately the heat and flames claimed the building.

Nobody is reported to have been injured from this incident.

Atikokan, being an outdoorsy type of people, are now limited in their outdoorsy type shops.

Some residents informed us that they saw a female 59-year-old town drunk stumbling around smoking a cigarette not long before the building went up in flames. A vehicle was also seen idling nearby.

  1. I definitely hope they called the cops and told them who it was walking around. Aaron is too nice of a guy to have anything like this happen. He always stepped up big time for things going on in Atikokan , especially the Bass Classic.
