Gun, Ammo, Meth and Heroin Bust

(DRYDEN, ON) – On January 3, 2019 at approximately 2:30 p.m. officers from the Ontario Provincial Police, Dryden Detachment conducted a traffic stop on Highway 17 within the City of Dryden.

As a result of the stop, Police seized a gun and ammunition along with a 1 ounce of Methamphetamine and 1 ounce of Heroin.

Aban GALIN, 44 years old of Regina, SK has been charged with the following offences:

  •  Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition contrary to Section 86(1) of the Criminal Code.
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm contrary to Section 91(1) of the Criminal Code.
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm contrary to Section 92(1) of the Criminal Code.
  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was a Firearm contrary to Section 94 of the Criminal Code
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose contrary to Section 88 of the Criminal Code.
  • Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm/ammunition contrary to Section 95 (b) of the Criminal Code.
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drug contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Heroin contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

Jasmine SOMERS, 24 years old of Regina, SK has been charged with the following offences:

  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition contrary to Section 86(1) of the Criminal Code.
  • Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm contrary to Section 91(1) of the Criminal Code.
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose contrary to Section 88 of the Criminal Code.
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Other Drug contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Heroin contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

Both accused appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice on January 04, 2019.
