MORE GOOD WORK BY THE OPP

A 40 year old JAMES MAILHIOT appeared by telephone in W.A.S.H. (Weekend And Statutory Holiday) Court today, Saturday March 9,2019 from the Nipigon OPP Station.

Her Worship, Justice of the Peace Denette Maslach is presiding. Federal Crown Arturo Acosta and Provincial Crown Sarah Munsch are here along with Duty Counsel Joy Wakefield.

MAILHIOT is facing a new charge of failing to attend court on January 22, 2019. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest.

MAILHIOT also has an outstanding fraud charge where he’s alleged to have written a fraudulent cheque to Zechner’s Food Market in Nipigon for 642.76$ on October 2,2018.

MAILHIOT also has outstanding drug possession charges that he was arrested for by Nipigon OPP.

Federal Crown Acosta wants some type of supervision for MAILHIOT.

Duty Counsel Wakefield has not put together any type of plan for MAILHIOT. She requests a Section 517 publication ban. This means any evidence, testimony or reasons given cannot be published. It seems the young Duty Counsel feels this will go to a jury trial. But sources indicate that she has never worked a jury trial.

MAILHIOT is ordered not to contact 3 people

MAILHIOT is coming to the Thunder Bay Jail. He will make a video appearance on Monday March 11,2019. Maybe Duty Counsel will have a plan together by then.
