(ATIKOKAN, ON) – On November 19, 2018 members of the Rainy River District Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Community Street Crime Unit commenced an investigation into the trafficking of Crystal Methamphetamine in the Rainy River District.

At 6:55 PM, on the above-noted dated, members of the Atikokan OPP conducted a vehicle stop.

Two male occupants were located in the vehicle and subsequently arrested.

A search of the vehicle by uniform officers and the OPP Canine Unit  yielded a quantity of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine.

26-year-old Cody EWING (pictured above), of Thunder Bay, has been charged with:

  1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act,
  2. Drive While Under Suspension contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.

33-year-old Eric MORTIMER, of Fort Frances, has been charged with:

  1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act,
  2. Fail to Comply with Recognizance contrary to section 811 of the Criminal Code.
