(KENORA, ON) – In a violent string of gun violence that rocked the city of Kenora yesterday, it ended odd-enough for one alleged victim. 32-year-old Leon Mcleod was arrested and held for bail court.
After being shot at and sent to hospital for his injuries yesterday, Mcleod fled the hospital and police went on the hunt for him. Police conducted a brief manhunt which resulted in the mans arrest shortly after.
On November 16th, 2019, it is alleged that Mcleod assaulted a woman that is the mother to an infant. Further, he has a string of outstanding charges from a previous incident which involved him allegedly acting violent towards the woman. He was court ordered not to contact the woman when he was released on bail for those charges.
Mcleod’s new charges are:
- Assault (on a woman).
- Breaching bail condition (not to contact alleged victim).
His previous charges from the previous incident with this woman are:
- Forcible confinement.
- Uttering threats to cause death.
- Theft under $5000.
- Failing to comply with bail condition.
The Crown ain’t consenting to Mcleod’s release. He was already released after facing violent charges towards this woman and was court-ordered not to contact her. Now, he is alleged to have breached that court order and assaulted her again.
Back to the slammer he goes. He scheduled to return to court on Monday in Kenora to have another swing at bail.
Sources indicate he is not co-operating with police about who shot him. Further, his injury was minimal and near his foot.
