(THUNDER BAY, ON) – 24-year-old Jonah Kenny Thomas has once again found himself in a Thunder Bay Police Station holding cell. The Wanted Wednesday star was arrested early this morning and sources indicate he was in possession of stolen cheques. Upon officers attempting to identify him, it is believed he gave them a false name which only resulted in an additional criminal charge against him.
Thomas is already on probation for previous criminal matters and also has recent charges stemming from August 24th, 2019 which are still working their way through court. He now has these three additional charges:
- Obstruct police by providing a false name.
- Possession of stolen cheques.
- Breaching probation (keep the peace and be of good behaviour).
This morning Thomas appeared in a Thunder Bay court room via internet video link from the Thunder Bay Police Service Station (A.K.A. “Hotel Balmoral”). Her Worship, Justice of the Peace Zelda Kitchekeesic, Crown Attorney Afton Brown and a duty counsel representative were administrating justice throughout the hearing.
After some discussion between the different parties in the court room, it was determined that Thomas was not going to be released today and has been scheduled to appear back in court on Monday for another attempt at being released.
Thomas is sent back into his holding cell where he will wait to be transported to the overpopulated and understaffed Thunder Bay District Jail (A.K.A. “Algoma Bed & Breakfast”) where he will suffer the poor conditions of the facility until at least Monday.
