(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Earlier today, just hours ago, an elderly woman had her purse yanked right the eff out of her hand.

The incident unfolded around 2:40 pm on Prince Arthur Street, located in the East End.

The purse snatcher lurked up behind the unsuspecting senior citizen and quickly, and deviously, ripped the woman’s purse out of her hand before he made a dash for it.

This behaviour is completely in line with an out of control drug addiction. People who execute these types of crimes are often deeply strung out on various types of drugs and are seeking more.

Thunder Bay Police are investigating the incident and are working hard to identify the perpetrator. Below is a second video that emerged showing the suspect fleeing through someone’s yard.

  1. This is absolutely deplorable. This asshole has no idea of the trauma, grief and fear he has struck into the heart of this poor old soul. Never mind the financial/material loss. If it were my mother/grand mother this bastard would suffer untold misery for the rest of his useless life.

Catch him and string him up.

    Cowardly lowlife prick.

  2. Stop referring to South Fort William as the East End. anything beyond Simpson street west is not the East End, don’t give our Little Italy the bad reputation that follows bad news if it isn’t in our area.

  3. Too bad he did try to take my purse cause he would have gotten a whole hell of a lot more than he expected. For starters he would have received a lightening sucker punch to his face just before I checked his bags then while he was laying on the ground from that I would have given him a couple good boots to the head just to make sure he understood that his behavior was unacceptable to me.

  4. Maybe it’s time for me to start carrying my husbands old .38 Special service revolver. In the 1970’s the city of Detroit was plagued with a similar problem. The solution was to use a special squad of cops who dressed up as vulnerable senior men and women and when the criminal attempted A crime such as this other cops were nearby who made the arrests or shot them as they were fleeing. The operation was named S.T.R.E.S.S.( Stop the robberies, enjoy safe streets). This might be a good project for the TBPS without the shootings. When a woman can’t walk the streets in the afternoon without having her purse snatched something MUST be done.

  5. The church thief perhaps? Person in of thin build and short as he is same size of victim. Also, person has the gait of a Caucasian male. Looks like he is also wearing his track suit from Christmas. This guy will be caught
