The really brazen car-hoppers will smash windows on locked vehicles if they see something of value inside in the vehicle.

These “crimes of opportunity” are rampant across Thunder Bay and the nation as a whole. As meth continues to sweep the country by storm, often displacing fentanyl as the drug of choice, thefts and crimes are rising, which indicates the drugs ability to take over and ruin lives.

Addicts that are out of control will often exhibit “drug-seeking” behaviour, which includes thefts, robberies, car hopping, break and enters and more, just to secure their next fix.

Police ontario-wide have a “lock it or lose it” campaign going, where they are uring citizens to remove any items of value from their vehicles everytime they exit their vehicle. Furthermore, lock your doors so that you don’t come back to a messed up interior or worse, a stolen car.
