Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service’s Major Crimes Unit are now investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.

Officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service responded to the scene and made a quick arrest. 25-year-old Tyler Sapay was arrested, charged and held in police custody at the TBPS Balmoral Street station pending his court appearance which happened this morning.

Sapay was previously on the Wanted Wednesday roster in 2018.

He appeared in a Thunder Bay Courthouse courtroom this morning via video link from the TBPS Balmoral Street station. Senior Regional Justice of the Peace Bernard Caron was presiding along with hardened Crown Attorney P. Pasloski and a duty counsel worker. Sapay is facing the following charges:

  • Aggravated assault endangering life.
  • Breaching a probation order made on March 7th, 2019 (keep the peace and be of good behaviour).

Court didn’t grant Sapay release from custody today. He is going to remain in jail for the time being. December 24th, 2019 is when he is scheduled to appear in court next.

Due to a publication ban, further details are not available for publishing.

This was not linked to the Queen Street Shooting.

  1. 10-90-100.

One of the Pet Shop Boys???

That guy looks like a mental degenerate.

Too stupid and too lazy to work so crime is his only option? Appears he’s not particularly good at that either.

Asshole will should do some serious time for this. However, being Dumpster Bay, our gutless JPs and judges will likely fall on their faces as per usual. Unlike Larry Hebert, this lowlife will probably be out in time for his Christmas dinner thanks to Gladue.

    1. ThunderBay , come for the welfare and cheap addictions . Who would want to leave ? Call all your friends and relatives !

    2. That friggen Gladue is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of . No matter your past, you still know right from wrong. The only thing that will get through their thick skulls is serious jail time which seems to be non existent in Thunder Bay.

    3. I AM CONFUSED AS TO WHY LARRY HEBERT WAS DETAINED IN JAIL ALL THIS TIME AND HIS CRIME WAS NOT ANY MORE SERIOUS THAN THIS PARTICULAR ONE AND MANY OTHERS. NOT FAIR!!!!

  2. How am I not supposed to be racists. It’s the same people over and over committing a majorities of the crimes.

  3. Canada needs to seriously make some gallows again! String up these assholes and be done with them! We should have NEVER done away with the death penalty!
