UPDATE: Name Released of Snapchat Speeder

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Police have released some information regarding the Snapchat Speeder we reported on early in the week which happened on Saturday.
Below is their released followed by a link to our original article.
Thunder Bay Police has laid charge of dangerous driving against a male motorist connected to a recent collision on Oliver Road near Wappner Road. Thunder Bay Police Service officers were originally dispatched to the scene of the two-vehicle collision around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7.
Police learned the accused driver of a black sedan was travelling westbound on Oliver Road at a high-rate of speed. The accused was also entering the eastbound lane of the two-lane roadway to pass multiple motorists before returning to the westbound lane.
The driver of the black sedan was quickly approaching the rear of a red Jeep, which was slowing for a turn.
The driver of the sedan slammed on his brakes in an attempt to avoid a collision, however, due to the rate of speed he realized he would be unable to stop in time. The driver of the sedan instead attempted to pass the Jeep on its left as he was returning to the westbound lane of traffic he struck the Jeep.

The Jeep nearly rolled over coming to rest in a ditch. Meanwhile the sedan did roll over, skidded and came to a stop back on its wheels.

As police continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision, investigators were made aware of a social media video that appeared to have been posted by the driver of the black sedan.
The Snapchat video appeared to show the driver recording himself as he passed multiple vehicles. The video also records a speedometer showing speeds between 180 km/h and 190 km/h. The video was geotagged in the area of Oliver Road near the scene of the collision.

As a result of the ongoing investigation a 19-year-old KALLEN FORESTA of Thunder Bay, has been charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. He has been released on a promise to appear with a future court date and conditions to not drive a motor vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing. If you have any information that could assist investigators please call police at 684-1200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, online at www.p3tips.com.

  1. All I can say is that I hope this ass hole was high at the time. At least he’d have an excuse for being such an idiot. If not, he’s a complete and total moron with no hope for the future.
Too bad the jeep driver didn’t kick the shit out of him on the spot. Had it been me, that prick would have seen the business end of a pick axe handle.

    1. Its a good thing you werent there then Rex, otherwise TWO idiots would have been arrested that day. You know the kids’ name, so why not track him down yourself and give him the whats how instead of posting threats online about it? Dont forget to post your results!
Obviously what he did was stupid, wrong, and extremely dangerous. Acting like a tough guy well after the fact makes you look pretty dumb. Like at least add something to the conversation.

    2. Kris:
It appears you’re not particularly bright.
In case you haven’t figured it out, I wasn’t driving the jeep. I don’t normally go around picking fights with people who haven’t offended me.
Opening invitations to others to go lay a beating on this asshole is clear sign of your lack of foresight. Be careful what you wish for. Your buddy might not appreciate any additional attention. He’ll get plenty of that once he inevitably makes his way into the penal system.

  2. There’s stupid and then there’s really stupid!
As self-control is beyond this genius, at least a 6-month jail sentence should be imposed as it may be the only way this guy MIGHT see the light.
A delusional asshole if there ever was one.

  3. Kris….relax my friend………………….When I and I am sure many others first read this article, that was my first thought as well was to kick the shit out of this snot nosed asshole simply for putting my life at risk. If he wants to kill himself that’s fine, I will pull over so he can go even faster, but to put my life at risk he truly does deserve a good shit kicking…….now or later!!!!!!!!!
What bugs me is he should have had a number of additional charges added to the list, but hopefully he will get some time behind bars.

    1. Exactly. What about distracted driving and street racing to name a few.
Funny…. he promises to appear and he promises not to drive. What a joke. He’s probably already behind the wheel of another vehicle.
      He shouldn’t have been released!
