UPDATE: Ex-City Councillor Charged with Attempted Murder

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to a residential address in the 400 block of Vickers Street South just before 3:15 p.m. following reports of a disturbance.

When police learned an altercation had taken place within the home they were dispatched to.

During this altercation a male attacked another individual inside the home. The victim was also threatened during the attack.

The victim was able to flee to a neighbouring home and called 911. The male accused was subsequently arrested.

Lawrence John William HEBERT, 72, of Thunder Bay is charged with Attempted Murder.

The accused appeared in bail court Friday and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date of Dec. 16, 2019.

  3. On the day of the event, I drove past the house at about 4:10pm and saw 2 youths about 14-16 years old standing outside with hands behind back. Not sure if they were cuffed or not. Could this have been a home invasion gone wrong (or right)? Wish we had more info because I like Larry
