Trap House Bust: Cocaine and Guns on Mountdale – 5 Arrested


(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service have knocked down another trap house in Thunder Bay, this time on 1100 block of Mountdale Ave. Officers raided the home yesterday afternoon and discovered 5 people, drugs and two guns that were allegedly being used for drug trafficking enforcement. There has been 25 days worth of surveillance footage gathered before this raid took place. A handgun and a rifle were alleged to have been illegally possessed. One of the males was picked up off a plane that landed in Thunder Bay due to this investigation.
The estimated street value of drugs seized totals about $36,000CAD. The value of currency seized is about $20,000CAD.
All five suspects have appeared in a Thunder Bay Courthouse (A.K.A. “The In and Out Day Spa”) courtroom this morning in front of Her Worship, Justice of the Peace Jennifer Neill. Federal Crown Attorney Ron Poirier, Provincial Crown Attorney Katrina “Lock Them Up!” Van Kessel and experienced duty counsel lawyer Stella Vallelongo were also present.
The five suspects are 28-year-old Samantha Servantes, 19-year old Juan Kane, a resident of Toronto, 21-year-old Tyrell Delante Kane, a resident of the Toronto area, 19-year-old Josiah Brown, of the Toronto area, and 64-year-old Salvatore Miele, a resident from Thunder Bay. Charges amongst

  • Proceeds of crime over $5000 (money).
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine).
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm.
  • Possession of a prohibited firearm without a license (handgun).
  • Possession of a firearm without a license (rifle).
  • Storing a prohibited firearm in a careless manner.
  • Possession of a firearm (rifle) without a license.

Juan Kane was not charged with the firearm charges, all others were charged with the full list. The five are denied bail today and have been ordered to remain in jail until at least their next bail appearance which have been scheduled for tomorrow.
