Suspected Balmertown Cocaine Kingpin Arrested

(BALMERTOWN, ON) – On January 28, 2020 officers from the Red Lake detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with the assistance of officers from Kenora Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), Dryden and Kenora CSCU and Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau (POIB) executed a search warrant on a residence in Balmertown.

As a result of the investigation, James McKEE, 24, of Balmertown was arrested and charged.

His charges are:

  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property obtained by Crime under $5000 contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

A quantity of cocaine with a street value of approximately $7,000 was seized as well as a small quantity of Canadian currency.

He was released on a release order without monetary commitment and is scheduled to appear in a Red Lake courtroom on March 12, 2020, to begin answering to the charges.

    Not much of a kingpin in that one horse village.

    What was he doing? Selling dope to his immediate family?

    Punk loser on his way to being the “pick-up-soap” girl in the pen. Certainly his parents will be proud of his accomplishments.
