Sudden Death in Ignace, Drugs a Suspect

(IGNACE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Ignace Detachment was called to investigate a sudden death on West Street in Ignace on December 6, 2019 at approximately 8:43 a.m.

The deceased has been identified as Nathaniel LACROIX, 37 years old of Burlington, Ontario

Officers of the Ignace OPP, Community Street Crime Unit, North West Region Forensic Identification Unit, in conjunction with the OPP North West Region Crime Unit under the direction of A/Detective Inspector Karl Duewel OPP Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.

Residents in the city suspect a drug overdose.

There is no public safety concerns at this time.

  1. This is particularly sad. The guy seemed to be a working man with kids. Ignace is a long way from Burlington. Wondering if he was heading out west for work and found himself in a jackpot in Ignace? Suspect drug and/or alcohol are involved.
