(THUNDER BAY, ON) – It’s been a while since the city had a stabbing incident. A 18-year-old man named Skyler Wannakamik was arrested and detained by hardworking officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) after responding to reports that a man had been stabbed.
Details are thin at this point.
Wannakamik appeared in court this morning via video link while in police custody at the TBPS Balmoral Street station. Justice of the Peace Zelda Kitchkeesic was presiding along with Crown Attorney Tamara Fairchild and defence lawyer.
Wannakamik is facing a single charge of Aggravated Assault.
Bail is not granted today and Wannakamik is ordered to remain in jail for the time being.
He will be shipped off to the overcrowded and understaffed Thunder Bay District Jail where he will likely remain until his inevitable release.
Anyone with further details or photos of the suspect are urged to text 807-355-8917 or email tips@trcctb.com
OOPS! We made a mistake. We had previously blocked out the wrong face in this photo. We apologize for the brief error.

You could be correct in why he had a knife but I doubt it. That being said, I carry one when I go to Tbay just for that reason.
10-90-100.
Why? Why is there over-representation of FN people in our prisons? Why?
this is why,,,not in there for being good citizens. The truth is not racist either, its a fact!
Agreed Bill.
The glaring reality that the “politically correct” simply do not want to accept for fear of being perceived as being racist for acknowledging the facts and the truth.
