Massive Cash Seized During Traffic Stop West of Thunder Bay

(DRYDEN, ON) – On January 12, 2020, at approximately 1:19 pm. officers from the Dryden detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police conducted a traffic stop on Highway 17 in Wainwright Township, just West of Dryden.

As a result of the stop, officers seized a large quantity of Canadian Currency.

29-year-old Tommy DEMORIZI and 34-year-old Moise VALERIO-HERNANDEZ of Montreal, QC have been charged with the following Criminal Code Offences:

  •  Trafficking in property obtained by crime s.355.2
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 s. 354(1) (a)
  • Laundering Proceeds of Crime s. 462.3(1) (a)

Both accused are scheduled to appear in court on March 2nd, 2020, to begin answering to the charges.

This incident is still under investigation and Dryden OPP officers were assisted by the North West Region Canine Unit.

  1. Kudos to the OPP for catching these snakes. Now for our useless, cowardly justice system to do their jobs and slap these bastards with some serious jail time.

    I suspect however, that the likelihood of that happening is extremely remote.
