Machete Assault: Altercation Escalates

(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch were dispatched to the parking lot of a coffee shop in the 300 block of May Street South at about 6:45 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28 following reports of someone being threatened with a weapon.
When officers arrived they learned a witness saw a truck drive into the driveway of the business. The witness observed the male driver arguing with his female passenger.
The male and female exited the truck, at which point the witness observed the male push the female up against the vehicle.
The witness attempted to intervene to assist the female.
The male responded by retrieving a large machete from the truck, running toward the witness and threatening him.
Officers located and arrested the male accused.
Gerard Cyril TREMBLAY, 63, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Assault with a Weapon and Uttering Threats.
He appeared in bail court Tuesday and was released with a future appearance date.

  1. WTF is going on in this city? Must be something in the water?
I guess this is what happens when you shut down the mental health facilities.

    1. It is simply disrespect for others and a powertrip. Cause? Who knows. Maybe he was dropped on his head one too many times. Maybe he has an alcoholic induced dementia or drug addiction. Maybe he just has a hate on for everyone. One thing is certain though, he aint normal cause normal people dont treat other people in harmful ways. Dangerous creeps like this should be locked up.
