Impaired Charge Laid on Would-Be Border Crosser

(RAINY RIVER, ON) – On the evening of October 25, 2019 officers from the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were contacted by officers from the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) at the Rainy River Port of entry.

CBSA officers had conducted a roadside sobriety test with an approved screening device. The male driver performed poorly. OPP officers as well as an officer from Treaty Three Police Service continued the investigation and as a result Rodney SINNINGHE age 38, of Rainy River was charged criminally with:

Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the criminal code.
Sinninghe will appear in the Rainy River Provincial Court on Monday November 18, 2019 at 9:30 am to answer to this charge.
