(HEARST, ON) – On August 29, 2019, at approximately 8:00 p.m., members of the James Bay Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint involving an impaired driver.
Police attended a residence in the Town of Hearst, Ontario, where the driver was observed to be impaired by drugs and alcohol and was subsequently arrested. The accused was also in possession of suspected Oxycodone.
Pierre LIZOTTE, 54-years-old, of Hearst, Ontario, has been charged with the following offences:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),
- Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus) contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) CC, and
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Oxycodone contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Hearst, Ontario, on October 16, 2019, to answer to the charges.
The driver was served with a 90 day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and the motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
Police are asking the public to call the authorities if they see someone getting behind the wheel after having consumed intoxicating substances.
