Human Trafficking Arrest, More Victims Sought


(TORONTO, ON) – Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Vice, Narcotics and Street Level Organized Crime Unit have arrested and charged a man in relation to a human trafficking investigation in the GTA and Peel Region.

In November of 2019, an investigation began regarding an adult female victim who had been exploited in the sex trade over a three year period.

On November 30, 2019, 38-year-old Damian Campbell from Mississauga was arrested charged with the following criminal offences:

  • Trafficking in Persons.
  • Receiving Benefit Result from Trafficking in Persons.
  • Exercise Control.
  • Material Benefit from Sexual Services.
  • Advertising Sexual Services.
  • Assault.
  • Assault.
  • Chokes, Suffocates or Strangles.
  • Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm

Damian Campbell was held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on November 30, 2019.

Investigators believe there may be more victims and/or witnesses, and are asking them to come forward.

Damian Campbell is described by police as:

  • Male,
  • Black,
  • Six-foot six-inches tall,
  • 276 lbs,
  • Black hair short,
  • Brown eyes.
