(DRYDEN, ON) – Traffic Stop leads to Police Pursuit and Three Arrested.

On Monday, March 16, 2020 while observing a driver suspected of Impaired Driving, Officers learned that the vehicle had been stolen from Regina, Saskatchewan.

While attempting to stop the vehicle, the driver fled from police at a high rate of speed. As the fleeing vehicle caught up with a semi-truck travelling in the same lane of traffic, the driver swerved onto the opposite lane forcing incoming traffic to slow and pull over to avoid collision. To ensure public safety, officers stopped pursuit but maintained visual contact.

Six kilometers east of Wabigoon, ON, police located the vehicle, unoccupied. Police immediately observed three people a short distance from the vehicle.

Jason, HOTOMAINE, 29 years of age of Regina, Saskatchewan has been charged with the following:

  • Obstruct Peach Officer.
  • Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code.
  • Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
  • Flight from Peace Officer.
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5 000.
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand.

HOTOMANIE remains in custody to attend WASH Court on March 17, 2020.

Two accused females were also charged with Obstruct a Peace Officer, Possession of Schedule 1 Substance, and Fail to Comply with Probation x 2. Both females were released on an OIC Undertaking with Conditions. As this information has not been sworn to as it pertains to the female(s) accused, police are unable to release names at this time.

Sources indicate that one of the female parties, upon release, got the vehicle out of the impound and took off in it. She later crashed and police have re-arrested her. She was sent to the hospital to have her injuries checked out.
