(THUNDER BAY, ON) – UPDATE: Located.

EARLIER: A van was stolen sometime today from an area in Westfort and the owners of the vehicle are reaching out to the public for assistance locating the heisted item.

The vehicle is a Ford Transit 350. It’s four months old and is utilized by the community of Gull Bay First Nation members throughout Thunder Bay.

Educational, grocery runs and security purposes are the main use of the van, among other things. The vehicle being gone is going to significantly impact activities and day-to-day lives of those who rely on it being available.

The vehicle is marked in Ojibway on the side, as pictured.

Stolen from the outside of the Gull Bay First Nation office in Westfort, there is a $5000 reward being offered.

Police have been informed and anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the van is urged to contact the Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) at 807-684-1200.     I suspect it’s leaving town and heading north to the ice roads.
