(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police are hard at work hunting down the last suspect they believe is involved in the fatal shooting that took place this morning.
Officers swarmed a Hodder Avenue townhouse complex this afternoon in what is believed to be an effort to locate the last suspect. Numerous police cruisers, marked and unmarked responded to the Hodder Ave police presence. The Emergency Task Unit was on hand working the case as well.
It’s uncertain at this moment if they did manage to locate and arrest the suspect, but until they do, it’s safe to say that trap houses in Thunder Bay are going to be turned upside-down, one at a time, until the suspect is apprehended.
This morning, around 2:40 am a male was shot in the back alley of a trap house in the 500 block of May Street North. The victim was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre’s emergency department where he later died of his injuries around 3:30 am.
Police from multiple agencies have been hard at work since the shooting, to locate the suspects. They managed to arrest at least one of the possibly three suspects at a home near Bombardier earlier today. The shooting is believed to be linked to the southern Ontario gang members and the drug trafficking trade.
Other local media have failed to report that the incident was a shooting and are calling it a “serious assault”. You can count on us to continue reporting and following updates as they happen.
