(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Staff at the Airlane Hotel located at 698 Arthur Street West had to deal with a Friday the 13th incident which involved nudity and an intoxicated man.

Allegations are that officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) were dispatched to the Airlane Hotel after reports were made that an intoxicated man was naked in the hotel lobby. Upon arrival of officers they located the drunken and nude man.

Officers conducted an investigation and determined that the male was out on bail conditions to not be consuming alcohol. The suspect is currently out on a bail release from a neighbouring jurisdiction and already has multiple breaches from the distant jurisdiction.

22-year-old David Barkman was arrested, charged, and held in police custody pending a court appearance which was conducted this morning at the Thunder Bay Courthouse. He appeared via video link from the Balmoral Street TBPS station in front of Justice of the Peace Zelda Kitchekeesic. Derrick “The HAMMER” Silvestro was the Crown Attorney as he was facing opposition from the talented criminal defence lawyer Emily Morris, who was filling the role of duty counsel this morning.

Barkman is facing a single new charge today of breaching his bail condition to not consume alcohol. This would be his fourth breach based off the predicate charge, which was not mentioned in court today.

The Crown is recommending the release of Barkman today on an undertaking bail plan with no surety needed. The sole condition being that he refrain from the possession or consumption of alcohol. Duty counsel tells the court that Barkman says he can abide by this condition. Further, Morris requests that Barkman return to a Thunder Bay courtroom on December 31st to begin answering to the new charge.

Barkman is ordered released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in court on December 31st, 2019.

  1. 10-90-100.

    WTF? Class act I’m sure.

Imagine the impression this naked asshole would leave with out of town visitors or anyone staying at the hotel?

Dumpster Bay at it’s finest. Come for the welfare, stay for the booze, drugs, easy judges and embarrassing displays of disgust and violence!

  2. I bet any tourists who see these type of performances wont be in a hurry to return here and they tell their friends too. Imagine you and the wife and little kids in the lobby witnessing that. Typical Dumpster Bay day. Hell , I live here and I wont even shop here any more because of all the putrid trash like this polluting this whole stinking town. And it is only going to get
much worse if that is possible. I used to laugh at someone when they said they were going to build a wall. Considering what is taking place here, I am not laughing anymore.

  3. What the HELL the guy already has multiple charges on being drunk and disorderly so give him some clothes a drunk tank to stay in overnight and let him out in the morning because HE says he WILL NOT DO IT AGAIN the laugh of the day I am sure. I used to be proud to say I was from Thunder Bay (now junkie bay) but not anymore I will not even say that I am from here because it is an embarrassment for they way they let the criminals walk the streets we have more murders and drug sellers here per capita then even the big cities have walking the streets. They used to say if you want to be a career murderer or criminal go to Thunder Bay and guess what they were right. From being one of the nicest cleanest city to live in we have gone down the tubes to being the worst not even safe to go out at night anymore even for a nice summer stroll.
