(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Sources indicate that months after a frustrated mother and father repeatedly told a 32-year-old man to stay away from their teenage daughter, things have escalated.
There is a roughly 15 year difference between the youth alleged victim and the 31-year-old hairdresser.
Allegation from sources outside the courtroom are that the older man smacked the child and then threatened to kill her and himself with a gun.
31-year-old Raffaele Michael Mihaljevic was arrested and charged with the following criminal offences:
- Assault with a weapon.
- Uttering threats to cause death.
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm.
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
- Careless use of a firearm.
- Forcible confinement.
- Using a firearm in the commission of an offence.
- Breaching probation.
He appeared in a Thunder Bay Courthouse courtroom this morning via video link while in police custody at the Thunder Bay Police Service station. His Worship, Justice of the Peace Bruce Leaman was presiding along with Crown Attorney Rob Kozak and criminal defence lawyer David Bruzzese.
Mihaljevic is to remain in jail until at least tomorrow, Wednesday October 16th, 2019, where he is scheduled to have a bail hearing.
