(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Earlier this evening, the Mac’s located on Waterloo was the victim of a robbery.

Sources close to the store have told us that at least 1 person entered the store armed with what appeared to be a gun and demanded cash.

The store is closed for the night as staff members are shaken up after the grueling incident.

Officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) responded to the scene in huge numbers and are currently combing the area in search of these criminals.

This is the second Mac’s to get robbed with a gun in the last few days. Staff members weren’t physically injured and are ok in that sense. With that noted, there is a high degree of stress and mental abuse that takes place when you are robbed at gun point.

If you have photos of the police presence at this Mac’s, please send them in to our text line at 807-355-8917 or via email at tips@trcctb.com

Anyone with information regarding who the suspects are is being urged to contact police at 807-684-1200. If you provide Crime Stoppers with a tip that leads to a conviction, you could be rewarded with up to $2000.

Our thoughts are with the staff of both Mac’s that had to endure this situation.

  1. If this is the same punk that robbed the other store with a gun, I hope when they get to court each charge is dealt with separate. The penalty escalates for each conviction. Check out Sec 344.1 of the criminal code of canada. Now that would be the best news in a long time. This is a golden opportunity for the system to get it right for a change and send an effective messsage to wanna be punks entertaining thoughts of their 15 minutes of fame . But with the wuz systems track record, I wouldnt be holding my breathe waiting for it.

    1. The gutless JPs/judges won’t have much of a choice to dole out their usual insignificant sentence. I think there’s a minimum sentencing requirement for using a weapon in the discharge of a crime and it’s fairly stout. I hear 5 yrs minimum.

If this asshole has two robberies using a firearm and is convicted of both, he’s looking at some serious time. All for some chump change and a few packs of smokes.
