911 Call Leads to Drunk Driving Charges

(FORT FRANCES, ON) – Shortly after 1:00 am on November 25, 2019 members of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to a complaint of a possible impaired driver in the area of Stewart Street and King’s Highway in Fort Frances.

The vehicle that was subject of the complaint was located and the officers conducted an investigation. As a result of this investigation, Wade Johnson 23 of Couchiching First Nation was charged criminally with:

  • Operate a conveyance with 80 or more milligrams of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.
  • Operate a conveyance while impaired by drug or alcohol.

He will appear in Fort Frances Provincial Court am to answer to these charges.

The OPP is committed to safety for all who utilize Ontario’s roadways. Members of the public are urged to report Impaired Driving by calling 911 in emergency situations. Complaints of impaired, aggressive or careless driving can also be made by calling      1-888-310-1122.
