ALLEGED HUMAN TRAFFICKING DRUG DEALER ARRESTED AGAIN IN TERRACE BAY.
A 29 year old JONATHAN OUELLET GENDRON appeared by telephone in W.A.S.H. (Weekend And Statutory Holiday) Court today, Saturday April 21,2018 from the Schreiber OPP Station. Her Worship, Denette Maslach is presiding. Federal Crown Ron Poirier is here along with Duty Counsel Lianne Roberge.
Her Worship gets OUELLET GENDRON to confirm the spelling of his name. There is no hyphen. He has his mother and father’s surnames.
Court hears allegations that OUELLET GENDRON was pulled over by OPP travelling through Terrace Bay and officers found out he was under bail conditions for alleged human trafficking and drug dealing in Yellowknife.
According to the Crown, the accused is supposed to be in his mother’s house in Montreal every Friday night starting at midnight.
But he was in Terrace Bay.
Officer also discover less than 30 grams of marijuana in the car.
OUELLET GENDRON has a very heavy French accent. He learns that Federal Crown Poirier is not consenting to his release.
OUELLET GENDRON tells the court “I WAZ WIT SUM WAN WHO HAZ MARYYY WANNA”
He insists that he can be anywhere but Yellowknife.
Her Worship Maslach informs him that he’s not getting out of jail this weekend and will be transported from Schreiber OPP to the Thunder Bay Jail.
“I’M NOTS A BAD GUY, MY GIRLFRIEND, SHE HAD SOME POT” he states.
His next appearance is from Thunder Bay Jail on Monday April 23,2018.
OUELLET GENDRON’S RECENT ARREST IN YELLOWKNIFE.
A man has been accused of human trafficking after a woman in Yellowknife told police she feared for her safety.
RCMP say they got information last November from Saskatoon police about a woman being exploited and drugs being sold in Yellowknife.
Mounties located the woman in Yellowknife, and it was determined that at least five men were responsible for bringing the woman as well as cocaine into the city to sell.
Police say they obtained a search warrant on Friday December 1, 2017 for two hotel rooms in downtown Yellowknife and seized about 729 individual bags of crack cocaine and one ounce of powder cocaine.
Jonathan Ouellet-Gendron, who is 29, and from Montreal and Saskatoon, is charged with human trafficking and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
Mohamed Mohamud Ali, who is 30, of Calgary and two others from Edmonton – Quintin Glasgow-Brownlow, who is 18, and Mahmoud Taliani, who is 30, are charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
Mohamed Abdula Ali, who is 30 and is from Edmonton, is charged with obstructing a peace officer.
