Appearing in courtroom 104 this morning from the Fort Frances OPP Detachment is 30-year-old Jeremy Martin. Justice of the Peace Zelda Kitchekeesik presiding, with Jane Ann McGill as Crown Attorney, and Lianne Roberge as Duty Counsel.

Martin had warrants for his arrest on several outstanding charges surrounding drug trafficking. The alleged incidents spawn back to May of 2017, and as recently as March 5, 2018. The list of charges are as follows:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (May 2017)
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking (another one)
  • Failure to appear for court (Dec 2017)
  • Failure to appear for court (March 2018)
  • Failure to appear for court (Another one)

The crown attorney states that this is a reverse onus situation, meaning that because Martin was released on bail before, and had violated his conditions, that he must no show cause to the courts why he should be released again. The crown suggests Martin is remanded into custody until April 3, 2018.

Duty Counsel is in agreeance, that Martin should be remanded on consent for an April 3rd, 2018 bail court appointment.

Would not want anyone to call the cops while you are wanted I suppose
