(KENORA, ON) – TREATY THREE POLICE WORK HARD TO ARREST TRIO OF SUSPECTS IN WHITEDOG HOME INVASION SHOOTING.
Three suspects appeared by telephone in W.A.S.H. (Weekend And Statutory Holiday) Court today, Sunday January 20,2019 from the Treaty Three Police Station.
Her Worship, Jennifer Neill is presiding. Provincial Crown Tamara Fairchild is here along with Duty Counsel Aranka Golphy.
THE 3 accused are 18 year old SERGIO MOOSE, 16 year old L.S. and 15 year old D.C.
Young offenders under the age of 18 cannot be identified by law, initials can be used.
The court hears the trio broke into a home on the reserve last night armed with air pistols and began firing the pistols wounding the residents in the home. They are all facing several firearm related charges as well as break and enter with intent and aggravated assault.
No word yet on the condition of victims other than they are “wounded”.
L.S. was arrested, charged and released January 12,2019 for assaulting a woman with a weapon as well as mischief for destroying the door and window to the woman’s home.
Treaty Three Police have been unable to make contact with parents of the Young Offenders so far.
Due to the violent nature of this home invasion as well as the use of the weapons, Crown Attorney Fairchild is refusing to consent to release. Duty Counsel Golphy is unable to do anything in this situation.
The trio will be held in custody all making court appearances tomorrow in Kenora.
They are all ordered not to have contact with their victims or witnesses.
